RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario) is the self-governing organization of general insurance brokers. Established by the Ontario government in 1981, RIBO regulates licensing, professional competence, ethical conduct, and insurance-related financial obligations of all general insurance brokers in the province.
RIBO grants two licenses. The Level I License permits a broker to provide insurance services under the supervision of a broker in possession of a Level II License. Brokers in possession of a Level II License may practice without restriction. To receive more information about RIBO licenses and other education-related topics, click here.
RIBO also sets continuing education requirements for all Ontario insurance brokers.
